Speed/Duration curve and modelling (CV chart), Time in Pace Zones and Stroke Rate/Pace chart to name a few.Correct but it's never going to be accurate since the program can't know if I was swimming freestyle or breaststroke, or some drill, or with a pull buoy or with fins or paddles or you name it. If that is all you want you can override TriScore in Details > Metrics tab without fixing the data, but to have accurate data gives a better stress score and enables other kind of swimming analysis in GoldenCheetah s.t. I know that's not accurate but I think it's good enough I care most about trending in CTL / TSB and it would still give me some idea about trends as I'm training more, or less, throughout the season. ![]() fit file, GoldenCheetah doesn't fix automatically your data as a matter of principle, but it gives tools to help in the process, in this case length-by-length data can be fixed in Edit tab and Edit > Fix Lap Swim from Length Data tool can be used to fix speed and distance.īenv wrote:I don't know about swim analysis in WKO4 but in WKO3 I have simply estimated my swim TSS and given a manual input for the whole workout with an IF of 0.8. The most likely cause is too high speed samples, this can happen when there is format conversions, you can get accurate data from Garmin Swim, even when using drill mode, if you import the native. I believe Garmin Connect removes them, but in Golden Cheetah maybe that's why they are not correct either. But also, since I am using my Garmin swim I have inaccurate files to begin with since the drills usually show up as '0' distance which then creates intervals that have a time, but no distance. They would have stress values of >3000 and it wasn't obvious as to why that was the case. I had uploaded about a year's worth of data into GC and found several swim files that had weird analysis numbers in Golden Cheetah (files were originating from my Garmin Swim). GoldenCheetah includes SwimScore which, while not perfect, does a much better job accounting for pauses, providing the data is accurate. any workout including 1500 swam in 15', independently of how you broke it and the pauses used.20x50 leaving each 1' and arriving on 45" on average.10x100 leaving each 2' and arriving on 1:30 on average.STSS can be defined as a custom metric by the user following the guidelines in, we don't include it as a builtin, since we consider it does a poor job to quantify swimming training stress without considering pauses.įor example the following workouts produce the same sTSS even when their difficulty is quite different: ![]() Just for clarity sake: the newest version (3.4) includes commonly used swimming metrics builtin (Stroke Rate, Strokes per Length, Swolf, etc.) but not sTSS. If there's anything specific you want, you need to know how to program in the metrics you want to display - example, the latest release finally has some swim metrics such as stroke cadence, sTSS, etc that were never available in earlier versions unless you programmed them in yourself. It works, I've tried it - but I *highly* recommend changing your password prior to using it and then changing it back after the download for obvious reasons. ![]() There's a website out there that will pull your entire Garmin Connect FIT files for you, but requires your login/password to access the files and bundle them to download. If you've got a newer device that uses BT, I'm not sure of the best way to get files other than to direct download them from Garmin Connect. You can direct import from that folder (it's hidden in your User/local dir, so turn on hidden files if you're in Windows and you should be able to navigate to the folder in GarminExpress that has the serial number of your device, or just run a search for *.fit). I need to look into that more.Īsilverm1970 - If you're running an older ANT+ transfer device (910, etc), all the FIT files are stored locally on your computer before they're transferred up to Garmin Connect. I appreciate the heads up on the sTSS vs SwimScore. I'll download the new version and play with it before migrating everything in. ![]() I haven't made the upgrade to 3.4 yet because I felt like I finally had the program set up like I wanted it. Ale - Thanks for that info - I'm still running on 3.2 with some tweaks.
